ETI, Worthing

Job: To supply and fit Gerflor Anti-Static interlocking floor tiles throughout unit. This product is easy to install as can be laid directly over an existing floor with minimum preparation and no adhesive. The result is a high grade, strong, chemical resistant floor that withstands extreme traffic. The dovetailed interlocking tiles can be laid quickly to minimise any workplace disruption. Although interlocking, the overall appearance is beautifully seamless! An additional benefit is that individual tiles can be easily lifted if a tile becomes damaged.

Brighton Museum & Art Gallery

The free Quantum Specialist Measuring SeNice, QSMS, was used and within 24 hours of contact by the flooring contractor, a Quantum Flooring Solutions surveyor had measured up and templated both the mats. This survey was completed outside of the museum opening hours so as not to negatively impact the visitor experience at the museum.

Hospitals & Care Homes

Princess Royal NHS Hospital, Haywards Heath

Contract to remove 20-year-old barrier matting from the front entrance of the hospital and replace with a Forbo Coral Click Modular matting system. Completed January 2021.

Notcutts Garden Centre, Ditchling

The installation of Polyflor sheet flooring on F-Ball Isolator. The wood plank effect vinyl was fitted to large restaurant area. Additionally, Altro Stronghold sheet safety flooring was fitted to the main kitchen and preparation areas.

Royal Palaces

The Music Gallery, The Royal Pavilion, Brighton

Buxtons were contracted to fit this beautiful woven carpet, which was made by Wilton Carpets Commercial to closely emulate both the quality and aesthetic of original designs. Buxtons have undertaken previous carpeting work at the Royal Pavilion back in 1975 completing the Long Gallery and Banqueting Hall, revisiting again in the early 2000s to complete other reception areas.

The Saloon, Royal Pavilion, Brighton

Painstaking investigative work led to the design of this luxurious, vibrant circular carpet transforming the floor of the saloon. With a Royal Warrant and a heritage of 250 years, Axminster Carpets can be found in prestigious locations worldwide. The saloon carpet is one of the most lavish, complex designs ever woven by Axminster and features 20 dragons, 100 sun rays and 274 lotus leaves.

The Royal Pavilion holds a rich history, originally built as a seaside retreat for the then Prince Regent (later King George IV). The saloon is the most central and oldest space in the Royal Palace and the 3 great state rooms.

RPM Decorative Artist and Glass Conservator, Anne Sowden used the one fragile portion of the original carpet still existing as a starting point to create an intricate line-drawn and painted design which was in turn translated to a digital version by Axminster. This took 7 months to complete.

Buxtons were selected as fitters for this elaborate, energetic carpet with a central garland of flowers inspired by those which bloomed in the early 19th century Royal Pavilion garden. We were consulted to discuss practicalities and tolerances of the design to ensure all eventualiities of fitting were considered.
