Buxtons has a thriving commercial
flooring division, well known to public and private companies
throughout Sussex. Employing over 15 experienced floor fitters,
we now have 40 years experience dealing with vinyl, lino and
carpets. We are a member of the ‘Contract Flooring Association’
and ‘Safecontractor’ schemes which vindicates our
commitment to high standards in Health and Safety.
We regularly complete a variety of contracts for East and West
Sussex County Councils and Health Authorities, work which can
range from laying vinyl walkways in school corridors and classrooms,
carpeting retirement homes and creating vinyl floor designs
for municipal art galleries and hospital wards.
Buxtons have built up an impressive portfolio of clients and
some of the projects we have undertaken are shown below.
Seaford Head Community College,
Seaford
Buxtons laid Forbo Nairn linoleum extensively through
this college. The picture shows the entrance foyer
of the main hall which has a vibrant inlaid border.

Royal Pavillion - Brighton
Client: Brighton Borough Council
A special woven carpet was sourced for the north
and south main stairs offering exceptional wearing
properties. Work included installing heavy, bespoke
brass nosings.
Lloyds TSB Bank Registrars
Department - Durrington
Client: Lloyds TSB Bank
Carpet tiles were fitted in the office at weekends
and after hours and work included removal and replacement
of all office furniture, all of which was carried
out in sections for minimal disruption to the workplace.
Brighton Pier Main Restaurant
Client: Brighton Pier
Amtico tiles laid throughout the famous fish and
chip restaurant on the pier.
At Buxtons we have a team of flooring
technicians who specialise in wood floor restoration. Buxtons’
fitters have completed extensive work in churches, schools and
listed buildings throughout the county – working with
wood blocks and parquet flooring.
All our work is carefully undertaken observing Heath & Safety
guidelines.

Buxtons fully restored the Victorian Parquet hall
floor. The oak was in a very poor condition and
was carefully sanded and sealed to bring it back
to it's beautiful original condition.
